Wind Takes the Lead in Lithuania’s Energy Sector
Wind was Lithuania’s top electricity source during September
Wind power produced 30.6 % (274.5 GWh) of Lithuania’s electricity consumption in September – nearly a third of the country’s total demand. Solar power contributed 17.9 % (160.5 GWh), while the need for imports decreased to 26.8%, compared with 36.5 % the previous year.
This once again shows that Lithuania is generating more of its own electricity, with wind becoming an increasingly important energy source.
