Renewables generated more electricity than Lithuania consumed

Last week, WindEurope presented the “Madrid Call to Action” – a clear signal of where Europe is heading:

• more homegrown energy
• faster electrification
• stronger grids and simpler processes

The core message is simple – energy independence starts with producing our own energy.

At the same time, Lithuania reached an important milestone.

For the first time in history, weekly electricity generation from renewables exceeded the country’s total electricity demand – largely driven by increased wind generation.

This is a clear signal that the direction is right.
What not long ago seemed like a goal is now becoming reality.
