Hybrid parks mark a new stage for renewables in Lithuania
Hybrid parks mark a new stage in renewable energy development in Lithuania – wind, solar, and energy storage are being combined within a single project.
As emphasized by INIKTI’s Head of Project Development, Darius Grigaliūnas, a hybrid park today is an integrated engineering system where every link matters – from grid solutions to energy storage management.
Just 5–10 years ago, 300 MW and larger projects developed by INIKTI were typically based on a single technology. Today the situation is changing – in one of the projects currently under development, alongside 300 MW of wind capacity, an additional 300 MW of solar power and 300 MW of energy storage systems are planned.
“When wind, solar, and storage are combined in one project, the scope of coordination increases several times. It is no longer a sum of separate tasks, but a complex system where every decision affects the overall result,” says INIKTI CEO Aivaras Stumbras.
