Sun vs. Wind: A Comparison of Electricity Production

If you've ever been curious about which renewable energy source—solar or wind power plants—generates more electricity, here's a clear comparison. The graph illustrates how much electricity was produced by solar and wind power plants in Lithuania each month of 2024.
It’s evident that wind power plants maintained a leading position for most of the year. However, during the hot summer months, solar power plants took the lead. June was the most productive month for solar power plants, generating an impressive 235 GWh of electricity. Nonetheless, this was nearly half of the record-breaking month for wind power plants—December, which saw an extraordinary 442 GWh of electricity generated.
