Lithuania Powers Ahead with Renewables in 2024
In 2024, renewable energy sources—solar and wind power plants—significantly contributed to meeting Lithuania's electricity needs. On average, 12.19% of the consumed electricity was generated by solar power plants. The highest share of solar energy production was recorded in May and June, reaching 25.8%.
Wind turbines also achieved impressive results, generating an average of 26.55% of the country’s electricity consumption. December stood out as a record-breaking month in history, with wind energy accounting for an impressive 38.5% of the total electricity produced.
These figures highlight the steady progress of renewable energy in Lithuania. This advancement not only motivates but also inspires us to work even harder towards achieving our primary goal—energy independence.
