Record Growth and Lithuania’s Leading Role

In 2023, the European Union constructed 17 GW of new wind energy capacity, marking the highest amount built in a single year. The target is to build 30 GW of new wind energy capacity every year from now until 2030. Last year, wind energy was 19% of all electricity produced in Europe.

National implementation is very important. Currently, Lithuania has a total installed wind turbine capacity of about 1,22 GW. In 2023, Lithuania added 280 MW of wind energy. Wind energy was 42% of all electricity produced in Lithuania last year.
