June 15 - Global Wind Day

Encyclopedia of Wind
What is wind? Air current; the movement of air in a horizontal direction from an area of high atmospheric pressure to an area of low pressure.
The world's first electricity-generating wind turbine was invented by Charles F. Brush in 1888 in Cleveland, United States of America. It had 144 wooden blades and a power of 12 kW.
The first wind farm was built in 1890 in Denmark.
In Lithuania, the first 160 kilowatts wind turbine was built in 2003 in Skuodas.
At the beginning of this century, more than 80 countries were producing wind energy, and more than 200,000 wind farms were operating in the world.
The largest in Lithuania is the Pagėgiai 13 wind farm, with a total electricity capacity of 73.5 MW.
INIKTI is the only private Lithuanian capital company that exclusively provides all services in the renewable energy market - wind, solar, batteries - starting with project development, construction general contracting, installation, dismantling of power plants and ending with long-term technical service and property management.
In 2023, the projects of the currently developed two largest wind parks in the Baltic region will be completed. Construction permits have been issued for eighty-four power plants with a total capacity of 564 MW.
We congratulate everyone on the occasion of World Wind Day and wish you to never forget that "the stronger the wind, the stronger the trees grow"!
