My story

From Passion to Purpose

A Spark That Started Young

When the first wind turbines appeared in Lithuania, I was already in my twenties. At the time, I was just starting out as an entrepreneur—doing what I enjoyed most: tuning cars. I’ve always been passionate about cars—maybe I inherited that from my father, an avid amateur racer with a bright yellow sports car.

Back then, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Lithuania’s market economy was still taking shape. Real estate was booming, opportunities were everywhere, and I was fully immersed in business. But something else started pulling me in a different direction: renewable energy. Especially wind.

A Legacy That Lit the Way

That pull didn’t come from nowhere. I grew up watching my uncle, Algirdas Stumbras, a true pioneer in Lithuania’s energy sector. Born in 1927 in Kaunas, he started his career in 1944 as an emergency crew electrician at Kaunas Electrical Networks. Over the next 50 years, he helped shape the country’s power infrastructure—eventually becoming known as the father of Lithuanian energy.

His dedication made a deep impression on me. Energy wasn’t just his job—it was his mission. And it became mine too.

The First Step Into Wind

The first time I saw a wind turbine, something clicked. I didn’t just like it—I knew I had to be part of it. I’ve always been fascinated by big engineering—machines that move, that do real work, that make a difference. But even more than that, it was the promise of clean energy that captivated me.

In 2005, I began learning everything I could about renewable energy and took my first steps into wind projects. It wasn’t easy—Lithuania had no real professional base in this field, no academic programs, and little public awareness. But I believed in it. Wind energy combined everything I cared about: technology, impact, and future-focused thinking.

Founding INIKTI

In 2012, I founded INIKTI with a clear goal: to build Lithuania’s renewable energy future, from the ground up.

Today, INIKTI is the only privately owned Lithuanian company that covers the full spectrum of renewable energy services—from project development and EPC to wind turbine installation, dismantling, long-term maintenance, and asset management.

We had to learn everything ourselves. We traveled to exhibitions, studied the latest innovations, built international partnerships, and—most importantly—worked directly with wind. It became more than a job. It became who we are.

Why We Do This

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. The average global temperature is rising fast, with consequences that can’t be ignored. We all have a responsibility to act—and renewable energy is one of the most powerful tools we have.

Wind alone isn’t enough. That’s why I also believe in solar energy. It complements wind perfectly, and together, they form the foundation of a clean, sustainable energy system. But none of this happens by accident. It takes knowledge. It takes persistence. And it takes a team that shares the same mission.

What’s Next

INIKTI continues to grow, driven by curiosity, commitment, and the belief that clean energy is not just the future—it’s a responsibility. We’re proud of what we’ve built. But we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey, because this isn’t just work. It’s a mission.
